I Will Find You —
finishedI’m visiting home right now, and my mom and I wanted something to watch together over lunch after she gets back from work. She wanted a thriller, so we started this series. It keeps you watching and is interesting at times, but it gets frustrating when a lot of the plotlines with tons of buildup end up not amounting to much. Many events also feel very predictable for a show with “twists and turns”. It seems as though a lot of these twists were put in purely for shock value and don’t actually make much sense given the characters’ previous actions.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (Live Action) —
finishedI am a HUGE fan of the original animated series and have watched it end to end multiple times, so I naturally had mixed opinions when the news of the live action series dropped, given that other animated works I enjoyed have had really subpar (in my opinion) live action adaptations (such as Lilo & Stitch, Cowboy Bebop, and The Lion King). But I was pleasantly surprised when the Avatar live action dropped, since I actually really liked it. The first season had a good plot but the acting was a little bit unpolished. However, the recently released second season was really good!

Backrooms (2026)
This was THE horror movie of the year for me. I definitely prefer the disquieting eerie to more gorey depictions when it comes to the genre. I felt really on the edge of my seat throughout and very, very uncomfortable - exactly what I was seeking from this title. We watched it in 4DX which made the whole backrooms exploration even more immersive (and unsettling). Great movie.

Obsession (2026)
The actor playing Nikky’s character really nailed it in this film. I liked the contemporary take when it came to the plot, which felt very fresh and unlike anything else I’ve consumed before in the genre. Nikky’s internal trapped state juxtaposed with the reality of her situation generated that creepy element that definitely left me very uncomfortable throughout.

Well. It was creepy and a good movie!

Abbott Elementary —
watchingI usually am not big on sitcoms but I’m definitely really enjoying this light hearted show based in Philly, a city close to my heart.
